Napoli and Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly rejected an offer from Al Ahli, according to the player’s agent.
Osimhen has attract interest and offers from Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli, who have already offer Napoli €70m, but no agreement has been reach with the Nigerian striker as most of the European market enters its final weeks.
Napoli are apparently keen for Osimhen to move to Saudi Arabia in order to raise huge funds for further transfer spending, but the Nigerian forward is keen to wait for offers from Europe’s top clubs.
Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, said: “Osimhen is a Napoli player and recently signed a new contract with mutual satisfaction.”
“He’s made history and when a big offer comes along (this year too) we always accept the club’s decision. As I’ve said before, he’s not something to be sent away.”
“Victor was vote Africa’s best player of the year Promotion Ufabet and is eighth in the Ballon d’Or, and there is still a lot to do in Europe,” Kalenda said.
His current contract, which includes the €130m release clause, runs until June 2026, and Napoli’s reluctance to let him go for much less has made negotiations with European suitors like Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain challenging.
Al-Ahli’s interest in Osimhen comes amidst reports that the Saudi club were close to reaching a €65m agreement with Napoli. While Napoli appeared open to the deal, the Saudi side still faced hurdles in convincing the player to join.
